I think that at first it was a little difficult to mix the colors but I think I eventually got the hang of it. One example of it was making the color brown; to make brown I mixed the three primary colors by making orange and adding a little bit of blue. For this project I chose a picture of the beach I took because I think it was a really good picture and that it wasn't too hard for a beginner like me.

Above are my three drawings from this unit, including the still life, the charcoal piece, and the random line pen piece. The most helpful warm-up is probably the upside down drawing because I had worked on the other techniques before and this was something new and it had worked much better than I thought it would.
Composition- The placement or arrangement of visual elements or ingredients in a work of art Value- The lightness or darkness of tones or colors Pros Cons Pen finer tip doesn't erase Pencil light, easy to erase dulls quickly Charcoal dark, shades back into the background hard to implement highlights The artist I have chosen is week is Johannes Holzer. His work was done along a river in Southern Germany, and he used two cameras to stitch different pictures together for his end result. Holzer's work is very well done, but what draws me into it the most is the fact that is combines my two favorite things, art and the universe. I love how he is able to capture the mysteries in the ocean while also capturing the depth and mysteries of unknown universe. His work really inspires me because for over ten years, I have showed great passions for both and not known which to pick, I could never find a suitable way to do both, but I may have some ideas now.
